• A request for Registration of a Trade Mark
  • Name, Address and Nationality of Applicant
  • A Statement of the goods or services in relation to which it is sought to register the Trade Mark including, if possible, international class(es).
  • A representation of the Trade Mark.
  • A statement that the Trade Mark is being used by the applicant or with his consent in relation to these goods or services or that he has a bona fide intention that it should be used. Payment of such application and class fees as may be prescribed from time to time. A trade Mark shall be registered for a period of ten (10) years from date of registration. Renewal if for a further ten (10) years.

    The Proprietor of a registered Trade Mark has exclusive rights in the Trade Mark, which are infringed by the use of the Trade Mark in Belize without his consent (subject to the provisions of the Act).

    The Act expressly defines a registered Trade Mark as personal property which carries with it all of the possible transactions normally attendant upon personal/movable property, including enforcement of such rights by infringement proceedings.
